Log in to staff tools

Log in to VU People First (via SSO) for access to the following processes.

  • Employees can:
    • access payslips
    • submit timesheets
    • book absence (leave) requests
    • update personal details.
  • Managers can:
    • approve timesheets/absences (leave)
    • initiate actions for team members
    • undertake recruitment.

Log in to the intranet to access information, internal applications such as staff finder and VU People First, and various services for staff, including services available through:

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) provides an extra layer of security that helps protect VU systems and your account by requesting multiple pieces of information to verify your identity.

Register for MFA to access your account from outside of the University network.

Log in to MyWorkspace using your VU ID number and password.

Find out how to access the applications you need on any device, from anywhere with internet with MyWorkspace.

Log in to Office 365 using your staff id@vu.edu.au (e.g. e1234567@vu.edu.au) to access your email, tasks, calendars, contacts and OneDrive files.

Outlook app

The Microsoft Outlook app gives access to your email, calendar, contacts and OneDrive files on your smartphone or tablet. You must use the app to access your emails on your phone.

Tip: You can also add the Bookmarks portlet to MyVU Portal and add links to your favourite or frequently used websites.

VU Collaborate is the Learning Management System (LMS) at VU. Teaching staff use VU Collaborate to provide learning materials, learning activities, communications and assessment for students to access 24/7.

Log in to VU Collaborate via MyVU. Once logged in, click on the VU Collaborate link in the right hand side menu.

VU Develop (requires login) is VU's staff performance and development tool.

Within VU Develop you can also access & sign up for personal and professional development.

To log in, use your Active Directory (AD) staff number (e.g. eXXXXXXX) and password (the same one you use to log in to your computer).

IT support

ITS provides a wide range of services for staff including:

  • computers and software (PCs and laptops, software and licensing, iPads and iPhones)
  • communication services (email, desktop phones, mailing lists, Jabber, video conferencing tools)
  • teaching and learning support (VU Collaborate, Panopto and open access computers)
  • cyber security awareness resources and training
  • networks and internet (wireless network, VPN, shared drives, printing)
  • the MYVU Portal.

Report a fault or service request online - login using your MYVU Portal or Active Directory (AD) username and password (same as your staff email login details).

Log a request online and you don't need to contact the IT Customer Support Desk. You can track the progress of your request, add more information, and communicate with an IT Customer Support Desk Analyst while they're working on your incident or service request.

Once you submit an online incident or service request, an IT Customer Support Desk analysts will respond to you as soon as possible or assign your request to one of our team members.

During semester

Monday to Thursday: 7.30am - 8.30pm
Friday: 7.30am - 5pm.

Semester break

Monday to Friday: 8am - 5pm.

Outside operating hours

Outside of our operating hours report a fault or service request online.

If you phone us outside our operating hours you will be connected to our voicemail system. When leaving a voicemail message, please leave a detailed description of the problem or request and include your:

  • name
  • phone number
  • staff ID
  • department
  • location.

Bring your laptop to one of our IT support kiosks on campus for direct assistance from one of our IT support staff.
