VU has engaged WestCASA (Western Region Centre Against Sexual Assault) to provide on-campus, trauma informed, therapeutic counselling and support to students who are victim survivors of sexual assault and family violence.

WestCASA at VU is generously funded by VUSU and operate on Monday 9am-5pm at Footscray Park, Building M, Level 2.

Introducing Olivia, our on-campus Counsellor Advocate

Olivia will be joining the Student Wellbeing Team to provide this service. She is an experienced trauma counsellor and holds a Master of Counselling.

Olivia has worked across the family violence and sexual assault sector in settings such as refuges, courts and hospitals. She utilises various trauma-informed therapeutic interventions including Art Therapy, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory and Somatic Experiencing.

How can students access WestCASA at VU?

Students can obtain a referral form from Wellbeing Reception, Building M, Level 2.

After Hours Counselling Support for Sexual Assaults

For after hours support call Sexual Assault Crisis Line (SACL) on 1800 806 292.

Their experienced counsellors will provide you with information and support.
