The International Student Support (ISS) team supports international student visa (subclass 500) holders at Victoria University in Melbourne.

Adjusting to a new culture and environment is exciting but it can be challenging at times. The ISS team can help with all aspects of life in Melbourne, balancing life’s demands and when unexpected things occur.

How the ISS team can help

ISS supports international students on a student visa (subclass 500).

You can speak confidentially with us about anything! No question is too big or small.

Some things you may like to discuss include:

  • personal and family concerns
  • overseas student health cover (OSHC), doctor's appointments or going to hospital
  • settling in to VU and life in Melbourne
  • concerns at work
  • becoming involved with your local community
  • accessing other support services
  • safety and contacting the police
  • finding a place to play your favourite sport
  • cultural differences.

In an emergency

If you are in an emergency situation that requires immediate attention, for example, if your life or someone else’s life is in danger, if you are feeling suicidal or considering harming yourself or someone else, call 000 (triple zero) immediately.
