Meet our 2023 Executive in Residence

We are thrilled to introduce Mr John Stanway as our 2023 Executive in Residence.

Mr Stanway is the President of Children's Healthcare Australasia and serves as a Strategic Adviser for Health at the National Disability Insurance Agency. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) from 2005 to 2021, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from 2017 to 2021.

During his time at RCH, Mr Stanway played a pivotal leadership role in several key initiatives, including the build and move of the new RCH, the implementation of the first total EPIC Inpatient and Outpatient Electronic Medical Record in Australia, and the establishment of the Centre for Health Analytics at the Melbourne Children's Campus.

Prior to his time at RCH, Mr Stanway held various senior executive roles with Monash Medical Centres, Southern Health, and Dandenong Hospital. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Transport Accident Commission.

Mr Stanway's contributions extend beyond healthcare, as he has held directorship appointments with the Victorian Hospitals Industrial Association (as Chair), the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre, the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, and The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.

We look forward to the valuable insights and experiences that Mr Stanway will share during his time as our Executive in Residence.
