Business work integrated learning

The Centre for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) helps business students to prepare for employment.

Our highly skilled staff negotiate with industry professionals to develop and manage suitable positions for Victoria University Business School students.

That means, when you study with us, you benefit from work experience – gaining a competitive advantage in the graduate job market.

Workplace programs

The Centre for Work Integrated Learning coordinates workplace learning in two areas:

Cooperative Education
Workplace Learning.

Cooperative Education

Cooperative Education (Co-op) offers a year of paid, full-time employment (minimum 40 weeks) as an accredited component of the Bachelor of Business degree – meaning you get work experience while you study.

You'll have the option of completing up to two Work Integrated Learning units. This will extend the duration of the course to four years.

Worplace Learning

Workplace Learning recognises industry-based experiences undertaken while completing your business qualifications, including:

relevant project work
part-time employment
holiday job
voluntary work.

Workplace Learning is mandatory in all business degrees.

Accounting, Finance & Investment Student Society (AFISS) is for VU accounting and finance students. We provide services and events to help you develop professionally and personally.

We're a student-run group that aims to equip you with essential skills for the workforce, and give you the best possible experience of university life.

Young Tourism Network (YTN)

Young Tourism Network (YTN) is a Victorian member-based networking group run by a committee of volunteers.

We represent members in all tourism-related fields, including:

travel
leisure
hospitality
marketing
public relations
events
attractions
tour operation.

The YTN also fosters the career development of young people within the tourism industry, through professional development, networking events and promoting industry-wide collaboration.
